About Sheriff Adamo
Sheriff Thomas Adamo brings nearly 30 years of law enforcement expertise to his role as the newly elected Sheriff of Passaic County.
A lifelong resident of Passaic County, and a ​member of the Passaic County Sheriff's Office since the age of 19 serving practically every rank, Sheriff Adamo has deep roots in Passaic County.

A lifelong advocate for community safety, he is committed to fostering trust, accountability, and innovation in public service.
As a proud family man raising his children in Passaic County, Sheriff Adamo combines his professional experience with a deep personal investment in the well-being of Passaic County. His leadership focuses on creating safer neighborhoods and a stronger, united county for all residents.​

A Vision for The Future
Sheriff Adamo's vision includes a focus on reducing crime, increasing community policing, improving services to towns, managing the county budget, and implementing advanced technology to improve the department.
Crime Reduction Plan
Sheriff Adamo's plan to reduce crime includes enhanced county patrols, collaborative use of leading-edge anti-crime technology, and improved collaboration with the leaders of local municipalities to promote safer streets and communities.
Cybercrime Plan
Sheriff Adamo will embrace the latest in innovative anti-crime technology that will allow the Passaic County Sherriff's Office to perform more effectively. In addition, he will work to expand the Internet Crimes division, to combat cybercrimes and child pornography.
Community Policing Plan
Initatives like neighborhood watch programs, community outreach, and de-escalation training for officers will be top priorities of Sheriff Adamo's community policing agenda, building trust between law enforcement and residents.
Fiscal Plan
As Chief, Sheriff Adamo already reduced the Passaic County Sheriff's Department operating budget by $1.5 million dollars in 2023 - excluding savings realized from closing the Passaic County Jail. His goal is to continue to manage the budget efficiently while reducing taxpayer burdens within the county.
