Thomas Adamo has served the great people of Passaic County as a decorated and committed Law Enforcement Officer for almost three decades.
Having worked in every department of the Sheriff's Office, from Corrections to Street Crime, Internet Crimes to Internal Affairs, he possesses a comprehensive and diverse understanding of the inner workings of the department.
With 28 years of experience, Thomas's exceptional leadership qualities have propelled him to rank of Chief of Law Enforcement with the Passaic County Sheriff's Office.
His sterling reputation and record prove Thomas possess the expertise needed to address challenges while effectively fostering trust and collaboration within the diverse communities of Passaic County.

Thomas's vision for the future includes a focus on reducing crime, increasing community policing, improving services to towns, managing the county budget, and implementing advanced technology to improve the department.

Thomas's plan to reduce crime includes enhanced county patrols, collaborative use of leading-edge anti-crime technology, and improved collaboration with the leaders of local municipalities to promote safer streets and communities.

Increase Community Policing
From initiatives like neighborhood watch programs to community outreach, community policing will be a top priority of Thomas's agenda - to build trust & communication between law enforcement officers and local residents.
Fiscally Responsible
As Chief, Thomas has reduced the Passaic County Sheriff's Department operating budget by $1.5 million dollars in 2023 - excluding savings realized from closing the Passaic County Jail. His goal is to continue to manage the budget efficiently while reducing taxpayer burdens within the county.

Why Thomas Adamo for Sheriff?
28 Years with the Passaic County Sheriff's Office
Thomas has dedicated his 28-year law enforcement career to the Passaic County Sheriff's Office. His journey within the Sheriff's Department began as a corrections officer, and through dedication and exemplary service, he steadily climbed the ranks, eventually reaching his current position as Chief of Law Enforcement.
Lifelong Resident of Passaic County
Born and raised in Paterson and having lived in Pompton Lakes and Hawthorne, Thomas currently resides in Wayne with his wife Ariana and their two boys, Christian and Austin, along with their two rescue dogs Norm and Phil. Thomas is an active member of the community, serving as Commissioner of the Wayne Boys and Girls Club Football Program.

As a lifelong resident of Passaic County, Thomas cares about the community in which he lives. He believes that Passaic County needs a leader who will successfully navigate the challenges of tomorrow with integrity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the values that define Passaic County - for a stronger, more united community where every voice is heard, every life is valued, and every individual can thrive.
